An eyewitness has come forward with a detailed account of the altercation involving a passenger, Miss Comfort Emmanson, and crew members on Ibom Air flight QI 513 from Uyo to Lagos on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
Recall On Sunday, August 10, 2025, videos shared on X showed Ms. Emmanson, a passenger, hitting a flight attendant on an Ibom Air plane and confronting airport security officials.
Ibom Air imposed a travel restriction on the passenger for her conduct and later charged her in court.
This development has been the talk on the lips of many in the public space as it comes days after Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, otherwise known as K1 The Ultimate, altercation with crew members of ValueJet at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), a user @egi_nupe___ sharing a flight ticket to show he was a passenger on the Ibom Air flight in question sworn that had never met Miss Emmanson before or the crew members.
He claimed to have been seated just two feet away from her in the emergency exit row and witnessed events unfold before takeoff and after landing.
According to the account, the disagreement began when an air hostess — described as “polite and amiable” — twice asked Miss Emmanson to switch off her phone, after which a second hostess approached “with an almighty huff” and demanded she turn it off in a raised voice.
Miss Emmanson allegedly explained that her phone’s power buttons were faulty and asked for help, but the second hostess refused to touch the device, instructing her to navigate through the settings instead.
When the passenger admitted she could not read the instructions, she again asked for assistance—a request the eyewitness says was met with a dismissive remark: “Please, I don’t have time for your nonsense. Better switch off that phone immediately.”
The eyewitness says they and another passenger intervened to help, but tensions escalated when Miss Emmanson questioned why she was being humiliated. The second hostess reportedly threatened to “deal with her” before walking away to the cockpit.
While some passengers urged Miss Emmanson to comply, those seated nearby defended her, and the flight proceeded without further disruption until landing.
The eyewitness notes that throughout the journey, the first hostess remained professional, offering assistance and even extra water to the agitated passenger.
The incident, according to the witness, reignited after touchdown, though they had already disembarked before the situation spiraled.
“I hope the other gentlemen who witnessed this unfortunate incident in row 14 will speak up and corroborate what I have said,” the eyewitness concluded, adding that they are willing to testify on Miss Emmanson’s behalf.
