Iran Would Be In Danger If Nuclear Talks With US Fail – Trump

Published on

On the evening of Monday, April 7, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that his administration is conducting direct negotiations with Iran concerning its nuclear activities, with a significant meeting planned for Saturday.

Addressing the press alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Oval Office, Trump underscored his inclination toward a peaceful resolution, declaring, “We’re having direct talks with Iran, and they’ve started. It’ll go on Saturday. We have a very big meeting, and we’ll see what can happen. And I think everybody agrees that doing a deal would be preferable.”

Netanyahu, who journeyed from Budapest to Washington, D.C., at Trump’s request, voiced tentative approval for the effort. He remarked that if diplomatic efforts could completely dismantle Iran’s nuclear program, it would be “a good thing,” while emphasizing the critical need to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear arms through any available measures.

In contrast, Iran swiftly contradicted Trump’s claim of direct discussions. A high-ranking Iranian official clarified that any talks would be indirect, facilitated through Oman as a go-between. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi affirmed on social media that “Iran and the United States will meet in Oman on Saturday for indirect high-level talks,” noting, “It is as much an opportunity as it is a test. The ball is in America’s court.”

Oman, recognized for its amicable ties with both the U.S. and Iran, has long acted as a conduit for dialogue between the two countries. Despite the conflicting narratives about the structure of the talks, both parties seem to be advancing toward conversations focused on tackling Iran’s nuclear goals.

President Trump cautioned that if an accord isn’t achieved, Iran could face dire repercussions. He asserted, “I think if the talks aren’t successful with Iran, I think Iran is going to be in great danger. And I hate to say it, great danger because they can’t have a nuclear weapon.”

These events unfold against a backdrop of escalating tensions in the Middle East, with the U.S. recently bolstering its military footprint in the region. The results of the forthcoming discussions could profoundly influence the geopolitical dynamics and initiatives to curb nuclear expansion in the area.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
