Labour Party Will Field Peter Obi Against Tinubu In 2027 – Arabambi

Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, has been confirmed by the Labour Party (LP) as their presidential candidate for the general elections in 2027.

After running under the LP in 2023, Obi lost against All Progressives Congress (APC) President Bola Tinubu and came in third place behind former PDP Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Abayomi Arabambi, the National Publicity Secretary for the LP, stated on Channels Television’s Politics Today that Tinubu will have a more difficult time winning the next election.

“Tinubu is not just going to have it very easy in 2027, we are coming back with that Peter Obi to them so that they will know we are very serious,” he said.

Arabambi also commented on the recent resignation of actor-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo from the party, dismissing it as unimportant.

“And we wish Kenneth Okonkwo well, his resignation is good riddance to bad rubbish. He should not speak about the Labour Party anymore,” he stated.

He denied rumors of internal party strife, arguing that LP is still a powerful force in the run-up to the next elections.

“There is no leadership crisis in the Labour Party. Labour Party is not going into extinction. It is just a figment of the imaginations of most of our detractors,” Arabambi asserted.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
