Lady Reveals Mother’s Funny Responds When She Didn’t Return Calls During An Interview In An Untrusted Location

A female job applicant has described what her mother did to secure her safety at an interview site that they were unfamiliar with. The lady, who went by the user name, @Ifedolapo Sanni, stated her mother, who didn’t believe it was her when she texted that she “can’t talk now,” replied with a funny but very intelligent text.

The lady said on Twitter, “So I went for this interview today at a location where we were unsure of. I forgot to text my mum when I got there and I couldn’t pick her calls when she called cause I was in front of the interviewer so I sent a quick ‘can’t talk now’. Mama no wan really believe say na me.

She posted a chat, where her mother responded saying: “Ok, just let me know when you’re done. Your uncle is outside there with his boys.

“They are strategically placed around the building. If they wait another 30 minutes and they do not hear from you, they will strike immediately.”

The lady pointed out that her mother’s action reveals the level of insecurity in the country and advised people to be smart about their movement.

“It just shows how high insecurity is in this country like this. You can’t go for an interview without second-guessing if it’s authentic. You don’t know who is sitting next to you on the bus. You don’t even know who the driver is.

“I really hope that things get better and that we can have a better Nigeria where everyone can walk and move freely without fear. But while we’re headed there, please be safe. Let your people know your movement. Kolorun ma sho wa o.”
