Lagos Gubernatorial Election: MC Oluomo Tells Igbos’ To Stay At Home If They Won’t Vote For APC

Igbos who will not support the All Progressives Congress in Saturday’s governorship election have been threatened by infamous Lagos thug Musiliu ‘MC Oluomo’ Akinsanya, who has advised them to stay at home.

MC Oluomo who instructed Igbos to “sit down at home” in pidgin English as he was charging APC supporters, said:

“We have pleaded with them. It is not a conflict if they choose not to vote for us. Tell them to sit down at home, mama Chukwudi, if you don’t want to vote for us, sit at home”, as heard in a popular video posted on Twitter by Punch NG.

The head of the Lagos Motorparks Management Committee, Mr. Akinsanya, is well-known for leading the militant APC faction in Lagos. His threat might deter potential voters from exercising their right to vote.

APC operatives have used a variety of strategies over the past week to assure victory in the March 18 gubernatorial and state assembly elections. This followed their devastating loss to the Labour Party in the state’s presidential election on February 25.

Peter Obi, the candidate for the Labour party, received 582,454 votes in the presidential election, defeating Bola Tinubu, the candidate for the APC, who received 572,606 votes.

Following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s compilation of overall election results from 36 states, Mr. Tinubu was proclaimed the winner (INEC).

Nonetheless, Mr. Obi’s unexpected success in Lagos State has made Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the candidate for his party, a serious rival for Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC in the governorship election that is set to take place on Saturday.
