The Lagos State Taskforce has arrested Dauda Bello, a hit-and-run driver, for reckless driving.
Gbadeyan Abduraheem, the Taskforce Director, Press & Public Affairs, stated in a statement that Oluwole Bukola, a resident of Ibafo, Ogun State, was seriously hurt in the incident that happened on Tuesday, January 21.
According to the spokesman, the driver, who lives on Adebayo Street in Oshodi, caused the collision by speeding and driving recklessly, according to the results of an initial inquiry.
“Swift intervention by officers of the Lagos State Taskforce ensured that the victim received immediate medical attention, while the driver was promptly arrested,” Abduraheem stated.
The Lagos State Taskforce Chairman, CSP Adetayo Akerele, made a statement regarding the event and urged drivers to put road safety first.
“I urge all road users to exercise caution and be considerate of others while driving. Driving is not a race to a destination, but a responsibility that requires patience and focus at all times,” he said.
The Chairman informed Lagos, citizens, that the agency remains committed to guaranteeing law, order and safety on the roads while fostering decorum and accountability for all road users.
The suspect is currently in the custody of the Agency and will be charged to court in line with the law of the state.
