Man Allegedly K!lls Uncle And Drinks His Blood In Ebonyi

On Tuesday, May 27, a 40-year-old man named Emmanuel Nwedu was brought before Abakaliki Magistrates’ Court 11, accused of m8rdering his uncle and consuming the victim’s blood.

The court did not take Nwedu’s plea, who faces a single charge of m8rder.
Nwedu appeared in court without legal representation.

Emmanuel Alo, the Senior State Counsel, informed the court that the defendant committed the crime on May 24 at Ugboenyim, located in Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Alo stated that the defendant caused the d3ath of Godwin Nwedu by hitting him on the forehead with a stick.

“The defendant thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 329 (1) of the Criminal Code Law, Cap 33, Vol. 1, Laws of Ebonyi State of 2009.”

After submitting the original case file, the prosecuting counsel requested that the defendant be held at the Federal Correctional Centre, Abakaliki.

The Chief Magistrate, Chinedu Agama, directed that the defendant be detained at the correctional centre.

He also ordered that the case be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for further legal action.

The matter was postponed until June 11 for a compliance report.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
