A Florida man has been detained after allegedly running over a foot model he connected with on a dating app because she refused to let him smell her feet.
Elmoncy Sercle, 28, is accused of striking the woman he met on Seeking.com with an SUV, according to an arrest affidavit.
The woman reported to police that they met for the first time on August 24 at The Serena Hotel in Aventura, and once inside a room, Sercle asked to sniff her feet and purchase her used shoes, as stated in the affidavit.
“When I got there, he just wanted to sniff my feet and I didn’t feel comfortable with that,” the woman, who is choosing to remain anonymous, told Local 10.
“I mean, you could have my sneakers all you want. I mean, I don’t care. I’m not wearing them. And you know, they’re just stinky old sneakers.
“But people like weird things.”
The woman said she would sell her shoes for $1,000 and that they were in her car. She informed police that she went to use the bathroom, and during that time, Sercle left the room, prompting her to chase after him, suspecting he was attempting to steal from her.
She told police that she saw him in the car park, and he drove past her, then “did a three-point turn and actually hit me with a car” and “ran me over”.
The woman sustained road rash and bruises on her chest and arms.
She told the TV station: “By the grace of God, I’m still standing today.”
Sercle fled the hotel but was apprehended on Thursday, August 28, and charged with aggravated battery.
Investigators noted that Sercle has attacked other victims in a similar manner, though charges for those incidents were not immediately clear.
“I’ve never experienced anything like this before,” the woman said.
“I’ve met a lot of people who have foot fetishes, obviously, and nobody has ever done anything to this caliber.”
