Mohamed Salah Voted Premier League Player Of The Season

Mohamed Salah has been crowned Premier League Player of the Season, concluding an outstanding campaign where the Liverpool forward notched 28 goals and provided 18 assists, surpassing the goal tally of any other player by five.

The Egyptian star, now 32, approaches the season’s final match against Crystal Palace just two assists short of matching the single-season record co-held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.

This esteemed award, decided through a blend of public votes and a panel of football experts, marks the second occasion Salah has secured the honour, having previously won it in the 2017–18 season. His victory halts Manchester City’s four-year grip on the award. The last non-City player to claim the accolade was Salah’s teammate Virgil van Dijk in the 2018–19 season.

Van Dijk, who also inked a contract extension with Liverpool earlier this season, was among the shortlisted candidates Salah surpassed in the voting. Others in contention included Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch, Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, and Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

This is Salah’s second significant individual accolade this month. He was previously named the Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year, garnering nearly 90 percent of the votes, the largest winning margin in the award’s history this century.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
