Antonio Conte, a former manager of Chelsea, has been appointed by Napoli as their new head coach for a period of three years.
Italian head coach 54 years old was named the fourth manager after Scudetto winner Luciano Spalletti left after the 2022–2023 campaign.
His appointment follows Napoli’s dreadful title defence, which saw them finish in 10th place in Serie A and is widely considered to be among the worst in league history.
“Napoli is a place of global importance. I am happy and excited at the idea of sitting on the blue bench,” Conte said to the club website.
He continued: “I can certainly promise one thing: I will do my utmost for the growth of the team and the club. My commitment, together with that of my staff, it will be total.”

The Italian coach returns to Naples after 15 months away from the game.
His last tenure at Tottenham Hotspur ended after less than two years in north London.
Antonio Conte has been appointed coach of Serie A on four occasions, three with Juventus and one with Inter Milan.
