National Grid Collapses Again, The Fourth In 2024

Published on

The National Electricity Grid has experienced another major breakdown, resulting in a national blackout.

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) acknowledged this in a statement issued on Saturday, July 6.

According to the distribution firm, the power outage inside its franchise is caused by a system breakdown on the national grid.

“Please be informed that the power outage being experienced is due to a system failure from the national grid at 3:10pm today, affecting the power supply to our franchise areas,” the AEDC said.

The DisCo stated that it is working with the appropriate parties to restore power as soon as the grid is stable.

The electrical grid falls for the first time on February 4, 2024. On March 28, it had another collapse. On April 14, the nation’s energy infrastructure faced yet another system failure.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
