Oramah Named Africa CDC Senior Advisor On Strategic Financing

Africa CDC appoints Oramah as Senior Advisor on Strategic Financing to strengthen partnerships, mobilise capital, and advance health security.

The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) has announced the appointment of four senior advisors in a move aimed at strengthening international cooperation, financing, and strategic partnerships to advance health security across the continent.

In a statement issued in Addis Ababa on April 6, the agency named Troy Fitrell as Senior Advisor on International Cooperation, Pierre Delsaux as Senior Advisor on Strategic Partnership, Christoph Benn as Senior Advisor on Debt Swaps, and Benedict Oramah as Senior Advisor on Strategic Financing.

According to the agency, the appointments bring together extensive expertise spanning finance, diplomacy, public policy, and global health, reinforcing its push to mobilise capital, influence high-level policy, and deepen partnerships in support of Africa’s health priorities.

Director-General Jean Kaseya welcomed the new advisors, highlighting their role in advancing the organisation’s agenda.

“I am delighted to welcome Benedict, Christoph, Troy and Pierre to Africa CDC,” Kaseya said. “Their stature, strategic insight and global reach will strengthen our ability to unlock new financing, deepen high-level partnerships and accelerate Africa’s path toward stronger health security and sovereignty.”

Africa CDC said the appointments underscore its commitment to assembling high-level leadership capable of accelerating the Africa Health Security and Sovereignty agenda with greater speed, credibility, and scale.

The agency added that it looks forward to the contributions of the new advisors in driving impact and supporting health system resilience across the continent.
