The Kaduna State Police Command has apprehended a suspected thief who allegedly specialises in goat theft in Pasali Konu village, Kagarko Local Government Area of the state.
ASP Mansur Hassan, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed this to reporters on Sunday, November 19, 2023.
According to the PPRO, the 20-year-old suspect was apprehended by a surveillance team and vigilante members while on visibility patrol in the village on November 11 at around 0430hrs.
According to Hassan, the suspect, who is from Kagarko LGA’s Igwa village, armed himself with deadly weapons and a facemask.
“The suspect, who specialised in stealing goats, confessed that there were two that came to the village to steal goats,” Hassan said.
He stated that when they spotted the patrol squad, the other running suspect fled while we apprehended the second.
“The other suspect who is at large ran to an unknown destination, but we will trail him and arrest him,” Hassan said.
According to a police spokesperson, the suspect will be charged in court following the preliminary investigations.
Hassan reaffirmed the command’s resolve to rid the state of all types of criminality, while also requesting timely and relevant information for proactive steps to combat crime.
