The Rivers State Police Command has taken into custody a pastor named Elijah, suspected of engaging in homosexual activities.
Elijah, who serves as the General Overseer of a contemporary church in Port Harcourt, was apprehended following the submission of videos to the police by a male acquaintance, Patrick, showing the pastor involved in homosexual behavior.
A source revealed that Patrick, who had been propositioned by the General Overseer, apparently pretended to go along with it and recorded nude videos of the pastor to use as proof.
“We don’t know how the Octopus Strike Force of the Rivers State Police Command obtained the footage, but they started pursuing the pastor. Eventually, relying on reliable tips, officers followed him to one of his usual spots and took him into custody,” the source explained.
It was learned that while being questioned, the pastor allegedly provided statements admitting to participating in similar acts with both grown individuals and minors in and beyond Port Harcourt.
The Rivers State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, verified the arrest, noting that the individual in question had been brought before a court.
“Yes, I can confirm the pastor’s arrest. He is in custody, and investigations are ongoing. In fact, he has already been charged to court,” the PPRO further stated.
