Seventy-Seven Abducted Cows Rescued By Police

According to the Plateau State Police Command, seventy-seven cows that belonged to Alhaji Idris Yunusa, the Galadiman Yuli Duguri, were stolen on November 9, 2023, from Gajin Duguri village in Alkaleri LGA of Bauchi State.

According to a statement made by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo, an intelligence report claims that the cows were stolen from a herder while they were grazing and moved to the Odare woodland near Kampani Zurak village in the Wase Local Government Area.

“On receipt of the information, the Divisional Police Officers, (DPO) Bashar Division, CSP Atiku Yahaya immediately led a team of Policemen who in conjunction with some VGN personnel and Hunters, intercepted the culprits. On sighting the Policemen, the culprits fled into the nearby forests. However, Seventy-seven cows were recovered and released to the owner. The Police have intensified efforts in order to arrest the culprits and ensure that they face the full weight of the law,” the statement read.
