Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has broken his silence on the viral allegations involving philanthropist King Mitchy and VeryDarkMan (VDM). In a firm response, Seyi Tinubu described the claims of “secret arrangements” as pure fiction, clarifying that his support was strictly for King Mitchy’s NGO activities.
According to Seyi Tinubu, he met King Mitchy once in a public setting, alongside others, and provided financial support for her NGO’s work. He stated that a follow-up meeting was scheduled to review the impact of her NGO’s work but it did not take place due to his illness.
Seyi Tinubu emphasized that there has never been a private encounter, secret arrangement, or impropriety of any kind between him and King Mitchy. He expressed concern that his name was being dragged into a dispute he had no part in, and accused VDM of seeking to attack and harm his reputation.
“I will not be bullied, and I will not dignify fiction with panic,” Seyi Tinubu stated. He called for an end to the “weaponization” of philanthropy and a shift toward responsible discourse, emphasizing that Nigeria needs builders, not bullies.
Seyi Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to serving Nigerian youth through his foundation, highlighting his transparent and documented philanthropic work in education, enterprise, health, and youth empowerment.
The controversy stems from claims suggesting an improper relationship or secret arrangements between Seyi Tinubu and King Mitchy, which VDM reportedly amplified as part of his online criticism.
