Shettima Embarks On Official State Visit To Ethiopia

Published on

Abiy Ahmed Ali, the prime minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, invited Vice President Kashim Shettima for an official state visit.

Ethiopian Foreign Affairs Minister Gedion Timothewos and other Ethiopian and Nigerian diplomatic personnel met him at the airport.

Vice President Shettima is scheduled to attend the official launch of Ethiopia’s Green Legacy Program, a premier environmental effort, during the visit.

Over a four-year period, 20 billion tree seedlings are to be planted as part of the program, which aims to reduce deforestation, improve biodiversity, and lessen the negative consequences of climate change.

As the two countries’ agricultural and industrial growth relations grow, the vice president will also embark on a strategic tour of key industrial zones and integrated agricultural facilities across selected regions of Ethiopia.
