Nigeria’s Super Eagles won the Unity Cup in London on Saturday, defeating Jamaica 5–4 in penalties.
Nigeria’s goals in each half came from Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze, and the game ended in a 2–2 draw before going to a penalty shootout.
The Super Eagles scored all five spot kicks to ensure victory in the encounter played at Brentford Community Stadium in London. Four teams participated in this year’s tournament: Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Ghana, and Nigeria.
The purpose of the game was to promote pride and solidarity among London’s African and Caribbean communities. This year’s event was the tournament’s first since it was last held in 2004.
The third Unity Cup edition has been won by the Super Eagles.
