Earlier today, Tuesday 1st July 2025, the Executive Mayor of Ikwuano, Hon. Anthony Nwaubani, Ph.D, FCA, FCIB, commissioned the just-completed NULGE toilet project at Ikwuano council headquarters. The ultra-modern toilet facility was completed by Dr. Nwaubani’s administration for the benefit of workers.
Joining the Mayor at the event were the Deputy Mayor, Hon. Chibuikem Awuwah, a member representing Ikwuano LGA in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Engr. Boniface Isienyi, the Chairman, Abia Arise Ikwuano Chapter stakeholders, Hon. Innocent Eleogu, HODs of Departments, workers, and the general public.
The NULGE Ikwuano toilet was a project initiated by the NULGE leadership, led by Cmrd. Martin C. Omeruo.
NULGE Ikwuano had before now established a synergy with the Executive Mayor through round table discussions- a chat path for improved workers’ welfare.
The project which was at its lintel level before paucity of funds, received the backing of the Mayor, Dr. Nwaubani, who assisted in financing the project to completion. The event of today is a promise made and fulfilled.
The Executives of NULGE Ikwuano, led by Cmrd. Omeruo Martin’s Chizaram ( Matoto Global), seized the opportunity to confer an award, Workers Ambassador and Friend to the Workers of Ikwuano on the Executive Mayor as a show of gratitude and appreciation of the Mayor’s fatherly disposition.
At the commissioning, the Mayor, Dr. Nwaubani, thanked God for the grace to be part of the success stories of workers in Ikwuano. He also pledged to do more while acknowledging that, “the project is to the benefit of all workers of Ikwano and at the same time a fulfillment of his mandate promises to the workers”.
The action Mayor also advised a proper maintenance culture for the facility among users.
