‘Thousands Of Jobs Will Be Created’: Air Peace CEO Onyema Commends Tinubu for Aviation Deal with Brazil

Air Peace CEO Allen Onyema says Lagos-Sao Paulo flights will create thousands of jobs and opportunities for citizens of Nigeria and Brazil.

Air Peace CEO Allen Onyema has commended President Tinubu for securing a landmark Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) between Nigeria and Brazil, describing it as a milestone for both nations and the aviation industry.

Speaking on the significance of the agreement, Onyema said, “That’s what is happening today. Thousands of jobs are going to be created. Thousands of opportunities are going to be created between both countries.”

He added, “First of all, for the aviation industry, I have to thank Mr. President, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I am proud to be very, very advantageous to the Nigerian nation.”

Onyema emphasised the strategic importance of the agreement, noting, “This is one of those shotters, trying to create a Nigeria for the future, whereby these agreements are reached and signed for the benefit and advantage of our nation, Nigeria.”

Highlighting the economic potential, he stated, “Brazil is the biggest economy in South America, Nigeria is the biggest economy and the biggest population in the whole of Africa, but the population of Nigeria is greater than some, let’s say, continents. Now, we have Brazil.

“Both countries have natural, human, or whatever resources you can think of. It’s been an aberration that up to this moment, nobody has deemed it fit to talk about air connectivity between the two countries.  This is the only thing that can hold both countries up to each other.”

Expressing gratitude to the president, Onyema added, “thank you, Mr. President. It means a lot for both countries. It means a lot for us Nigerians.”

On the readiness of Air Peace to operate the new routes, he affirmed, “We are very thankful to you, Mr. President, for making this happen today. And like you know, Air Peace is ready. We already came here with the triple seven to showcase our readiness to honor the request of Mr. President that Air Peace takes over these particular routes and make it happen.”

The agreement is expected to significantly boost trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between Nigeria and Brazil, while creating numerous employment opportunities in the aviation sector.
