Timini Egbuson Accuses Nigerian Musicians Of Not Supporting Nollywood

Nigerian artists have come under fire from Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson for failing to help their peers in the film business.

The award-winning actor, whose most recent film, Reel Love, is still showing in theaters, clarified that although Nollywood actors help the music industry, musicians have a tendency to not do the same.

Timini expressed his feelings on X, concluding by stating that he is not yet prepared to engage in a full-fledged discussion on the subject.

He wrote, “Really wish musicians supported Nollywood the way we support their music but that’s a conversation for another day.”

The Valentine’s Day release of Timini’s Reel Love got off to a fantastic start, earning N40.5 million on its first day of release, the second-highest Nollywood debut ever.

According to box office data from Nigeria, Timini’s debut film as an executive producer trails only Funke Akindele’s Everybody Loves Jenifa, which earned N46.3 million on its first day (December 13, 2024).
