Ukraine Mother Writes Vital Information On Her Little Daughter’s Back In Fears Of Being Killed (Photos)

A Ukrainian mother was so afraid of losing her life trying to save her toddler from the war that she penned a list of family contacts on her daughter’s back to aid in the identification of her other relatives.

Sasha Makoviy, a Kyiv-based artist, posted a photo of her little daughter, Vira, whose back was filled with her personal information, including her name, date of birth, and a series of phone numbers.

Sasha stated that her “hands were trembling” as she wrote the information on her daughter’s back, “in case something happened to us, and someone would pick her up as a survivor.”

The mother revealed her decision was a result of a “crazy thought flashed through my mind: Why didn’t I tattoo her with this information?”

Makoviy said scrolling through the images on her Instagram page, which is filled with beautiful photos of her, her daughter, and the young girl’s father, “hurts,” as it serves as a painful reminder of “such a wonderful life that we had” until Russia invaded.

After a Kyiv Independent journalist, Anastasiia Lapatina, published the painful image, it has gone viral in Ukraine.

The Journalist wrote, “Ukrainian mothers are writing their family contacts on the bodies of their children in case they get killed and the child survives. And Europe is still discussing gas.”

However, Makoviy recently revealed that she and her kid were now “safe” in a post to her fans on Tuesday, April 5.

She said, “We managed to cross the border, and now we’re in the South of France, We’ve been staying with volunteers who invited us here and offered accommodation.”
