Ukraine Peace Deal Likely To Leave Both Sides Unhappy – U.S. VP Vance

U.S. Vice President JD Vance has warned that any negotiated agreement between Russia and Ukraine is unlikely to completely satisfy either party, stating that both Moscow and Kyiv will likely be “unhappy” with the final result.

Speaking on Fox News’ , Vance indicated that the U.S. is advocating for a resolution acceptable to both nations.

“It’s not going to make anybody super happy. Both the Russians and the Ukrainians, probably, at the end of the day, are going to be unhappy with it,” he noted.

His remarks follow President Donald Trump’s announcement that he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15 to discuss concluding the three-and-a-half-year conflict. Trump suggested that Moscow and Kyiv were nearing a ceasefire that might require Ukraine to relinquish significant territory.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy responded on Saturday, firmly rejecting the idea of ceding territory and stating: “Ukrainians will not gift their land to the occupiers.”

Vance mentioned that the U.S. is working to facilitate discussions involving Putin, Zelenskiy, and Trump, but he believes it would be unproductive for Putin to meet Zelenskiy before meeting with Trump.

A White House official later confirmed that Trump remains open to a trilateral summit, but current efforts are focused on preparing for the bilateral meeting requested by Putin.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
