Umo Eno Reveals His Biggest Regret During His Tenure As Akwa Ibom Governor

Published on

Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno revealed his deepest regrets since taking office on Friday.

Eno revealed that his greatest regret as a governor is still the passing of his wife, Patience. Mrs. Patience was buried soon after her death in September 2024.

However, Eno stated in an interview that was broadcast on Arise Television: “I lost my wife here, and it hurts.” I wish she were with me at this moment. It can be difficult at times.

The governor also discussed his accomplishments, including his work on senior citizen projects.

He said: “My administration has shown remarkable compassion, especially like you have just highlighted, old people. And only recently we had a program with the Albino and this stands clearly for me.

“We have the Arise Compassionate Homes for indigent people. You need to see where these people used to live before now, and then now they can have a place they call home.

“So we’re doing 500 of such homes across the length and breadth of the state, each ward, and we’ve done 267 so far.

“So the next thing is how we’re able to help our people in entrepreneurship. That’s because that’s my background, and seeing these young people having to be trained and having to give them tools that they can work with.

“This is how to stimulate the economy, train entrepreneurship, giving helping hands to these young men and women. Those two projects strike me and seriously.”
