Workers Day: FG Declares May 1st As Public Holiday

Federal government has announced Thursday, May 1, 2025, as a public holiday to commemorate Workers’ Day this year.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the interior minister, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday evening in Abuja. He said the federal government steadily promotes the need for peace in securing industrialization and economic prosperity.

According to the minister, there is dignity in labour; the dedication and commitment to the work we do is vital to nation-building.”

He therefore urged workers to imbibe the culture of innovation and productivity.

The minister “encouraged workers to raise the bar of their trade to drive and upgrade the bar of governance and make all the people of Nigeria derive maximum benefit from the nation’s wealth.”

Tunji-Ojo assured Nigerians that “this Administration is fully committed to the security of life and property of every citizen and foreigners in the country.”

The greatness of the nation and the respect Nigeria enjoys in the international community are largely due to the hard work and sacrifice of its workers, Tunji-Ojo said.

Wishing you all a wonderful Labour Day filled with relaxation and celebration. Happy Workers Day in advance.

Live with Purpose, Love with Passion. Remember to be happy
