Omawumi Credits Cobhams for Her Career Milestones

Nigerian singer Omawumi has talked about how her career was aided by the encouragement she received from music producer Cobhams Asuquo.

In an interview with Hip TV, Omawumi disclosed that her career took a positive turn after meeting Cobhams.

“The first time we met, he just called. I knew we met on the show, and he said, ‘Omawumi, this is Cobhams Asuquo—you know he likes to funkify his name. There is a song I want you to do. It might not come out as anything for now, but let’s just go with it,’” she said.

“I did the song, and then the agency picked it. I became the brand ambassador for that product for two years. Cobhams taught me a lot of nuances when it comes to delivery and posture,” she added.

In summary, Omawumi’s acknowledgment of Cobhams’ influence highlights the importance of collaboration and mentorship in achieving success. His guidance and support have played a significant role in shaping her career, inspiring her to reach new heights in the music industry. Their partnership exemplifies how impactful relationships can foster growth and creativity, ultimately contributing to her continued success.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
