Ogun Governor Abiodun, Former Governor Osoba present APC governorship candidate Yayi Adeola to Tinubu amid preparations for upcoming elections in the state.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, alongside former governor, Olusegun Osoba, presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the state, Olamilekan ‘Yayi’ Adeola, to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting is seen as part of strategic consultations ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Ogun State.
Senator Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, recently emerged as the APC’s candidate, positioning him as the party’s flagbearer in what is expected to be a closely watched contest.
The presentation to the President underscores efforts by key party leaders in Ogun State to consolidate support within the ruling party and align with the national leadership ahead of the polls.
Governor Abiodun and Osoba are influential figures within the APC in Ogun, and their joint appearance with the candidate signals unity among major stakeholders in the state’s political structure.
Political observers note that such high-level endorsements and consultations are a common feature of Nigeria’s electoral process, often aimed at strengthening party cohesion and securing federal backing for state-level contests.
The visit also comes amid broader realignments and preparations within political parties ahead of the next election cycle, with parties intensifying internal coordination and outreach to key power centres.
