Israel-Gaza Conflict: Alicia Keys Removes & Apologizes For Instagram Post

Alicia Keys chose a bad occasion to reveal to her followers her interest in paragliding.

The Grammy-winning singer expressed interest in taking up paragliding on Instagram. She lives in a region of California where it is a very popular sport.

“What would you do if u weren’t afraid of anything??? Tell me your truth… I’ve had my eyes on paragliding…,” she wrote in the now-deleted original post.

The Israel-Gaza conflict, in which terrorists paraglided into an Israeli music event and killed numerous innocent people, sadly made the timing unfavorable.

After receiving a lot of negative feedback on her Instagram post, Alicia is now stepping out and apologizing.

“The post I shared was COMPLETELY unrelated in any way to the recent devastating loss of innocent lives,” Alicia subsequently commented on Instagram Stories. “My heart has been breaking, and I stand for peace in prayer.”

Guy Oseary, the manager of the music, defended Alicia on his Facebook.

“There’s talk of an antisemitic post that my dear friend Alicia Keys had up on her Instagram. I can confirm to anyone in my community who needs to hear it: it’s NOT true. There was a specific word in her post that our community at this very painful time find very triggering, but it was absolutely not connected in any way,” Guy said.

“I spoke to Alicia and she was horrified to learn what the word implied and immediately took it down. Alicia has always been a fighter for all human rights. I’ve had a front-row seat for over a decade of seeing her positive influence in the world. Her humanitarian work reflects her empathy and her heart.”
