According to the Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, every contract awarded by the government follows due process, and contractors are selected based on their capacity to deliver.

Some of the recent contracts awarded by the Anambra State government include:
- Development of Modern Bus Terminal in Ekwulobia: A contract worth ₦577 million was awarded to Crystal Dove Construction for the development of 624 open stalls within the terminal.
- Completion of Access Road to Chinua Achebe International Airport: A contract worth ₦1.65 billion was awarded to IDC Construction Limited for the completion of the asphalt wearing course of the access road.
- Security Initiative: A contract worth ₦234.8 million was awarded to Newsbreak International Communication Ltd for the installation of security equipment and features in newly acquired security vehicles.
- Healthcare Delivery: The government has also awarded contracts to improve healthcare delivery in the state, although specific details of these contracts are not available.
Response to Allegations
The Anambra State government has warned against spreading fake news and unverified information, stating that perpetrators will be arrested and face the full wrath of the law. The government has also cited the example of Nnewi North Local Government Area, where all contracts are processed through due channels, and only contractors with capacity are awarded contracts.

In a related development, the Executive Chairman of Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, has denied allegations of fraud and irregularities in the award of contracts worth N6.7 billion.
