Terrorists have attacked the settlements of Farin-Shinge, Kulho, Jigawa, and Dogo Fadama in Niger State Mashegu Local Government Area, murdering three people and kidnapping 28 others.
This comes just a week after a similar massacre in which not less than 13 people were massacred by alleged bandits in the state’s Shiroro Local Government Area.
According to Vanguard, the attackers carried out the assault around Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
They were alleged to have wanted seven 50-liter kegs of petrol, cartons of Viju Milk, and other drinks as a ransom for the kidnapped victims from the Farin-Shinge village.
According to a source, the incident began a few minutes before Friday’s Jummat prayers in the Farin-Shinge village, and the people were taken off guard.
Eight persons were abducted and taken out of the region.
Terrorists also held Jigawa, Dogo Fadama, and the surrounding settlements hostage, killing two persons and kidnapping four more.
The terrorists are reportedly said to have walked from house to house, stealing some household items and rustling a large number of livestock.
According to the source in the region, Umar Mohammed, who confirmed the raid, the gunmen attacked the area unawares, were unable to engage them, and were forced to depart the area, and are yet to be found.
