Barcelona’s Gavi Wins The 2022 Kopa Trophy

Pablo “Gavi” Gaviria, a midfielder for Barcelona, has been named the 2022 Kopa Trophy winner as the best under-21 player in the world at the 2022 Ballon d’Or event in Paris.

The 18-year-old La Masia graduate was named the winner of this year’s award due to his sensational play for both his club and his country Spain.

The award is presented to the under-21 player of the season.

Being the second consecutive Barça player to win the award, Gavi finished ahead of Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga and Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala. He accepted the prize from teammate Pedri, who won the Kopa award the previous year.
