Borno: Zulum Inaugurates N15.9bn Flyover And Road Project

In the center of Maiduguri, the state capital, a N15.9 billion flyover bridge and road constructed in just eleven months has been put into service by Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum.

When Zulum and Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State commissioned the flyover late on Sunday, Zulum called the project the realization of his administration’s vision.

According to him, the facility was created to alleviate the constant traffic jams in the state capital’s crowded Post Office district rather than just to beautify the city center.

“The journey of rebuilding Borno continues, and our commitment remains unwavering: to ensure that every child has access to quality education and the opportunity to build a productive and dignified future,” Zulum said.

“The insurgency destroyed more than 5,000 school structures, while at its peak, an estimated 2.2 million children were out of school, with fewer than 500,000 enrolled

Beginning in the middle of 2025, work on the flyover bridge, road, bus station/motor park, and other facilities was finished approximately three months ago. The Zulum administration constructed the capital’s fourth flyover.

Additionally, the governor unveiled the 2.5 km Budum Junction-Kasuwan Shanu dual carriageway with drainage, which is a crucial network for moving cattle from the main livestock market to the highways that connect to other regions of the nation. Additionally, he established Mega Primary and Junior Secondary School, which is situated in the conveniently accessible Customs Area.

Abdullahi Sule, the governor of Nasarawa State and special guest of honor, said the projects showed the Borno governor’s deliberate leadership.

“I commend you for demonstrating that even in the face of enormous challenges, government must continue to invest in its people, particularly in the education of our children, and I commend you for this wonderful job that you are doing.”

Congratulations to the people of Borno on the completion of this impressive flyover and road project. This development is a significant milestone that will undoubtedly enhance transportation and boost the local economy. We also commend Governor Zulum for his dedication and effective leadership in delivering this vital infrastructure, demonstrating his commitment to the progress and well-being of the community.
