Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has explained why the European champions did not sign Victor Osimhen last summer, despite being a top target for the club.
Los Blancos were among the clubs associated with Osimhen, who had a standout season with Napoli in 2022/23.
Last summer, Osimhen was touted as a direct successor for Karim Benzema, who went for Saudi club Al Ittihad.
Osimhen scored 15 goals in 25 league games for Napoli last season.
Osimhen, 25, scored 26 goals in 32 league games for the Partenopei during their championship-winning season.
Carlo Ancelotti told Radio Serie A: “No (we didn’t sign Osimhen) because I think the club thought that Benzema’s absence could be remedied by purchasing (Jude) Bellingham.”
It’s anticipated that the Edo native forward would depart Napoli this summer.
A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
