The Riyadh Derby between Al Nassr and Al Hilal ended in a dramatic 1–1 draw on Tuesday evening at Alawwal Park.
The result maintains Al Nassr’s narrow lead at the summit of the Saudi Pro League standings.
The home side found the breakthrough in the 37th minute when defender Mohamed Simakan clinicaly finished a loose ball following a corner kick.
Al Nassr appeared poised to secure all three points and potentially pull away in the title race, but the match took a late turn in the final minutes of regulation.
In the 90th minute, a cross into the box led to an unfortunate own goal by Al Nassr goalkeeper Bento, gifting Al Hilal a crucial equaliser.
The draw keeps the title race alive, as Al Nassr currently sits on 82 points while Al Hilal remains five points behind with a game in hand.
