Cubana Chief Priest And EFCC To Settle Out Of Court

Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, has agreed to settle the naira misuse accusations brought against him outside of court with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

On Thursday, May 2, the socialite’s trial proceeded at the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Following the parties’ agreement to resolve the case out of court during today’s session, the trial was postponed to June 5 in order to hear the settlement report.

As previously reported by AIB, the EFCC filed three counts of charges against Chief Priest on April 16 for allegedly altering and spraying Naira during events held at the Eko Hotel on February 13, 2024, in Lagos in January 2024, and at another location in 2020. On April 17, he was afterwards arraigned before Justice Kehinde Ogundare.

Chief Priest entered a not-guilty plea at the court session after the charges were read. Subsequently, he was given N10 million bail, accompanied by two responsible sureties in the same amount, and instructed to fulfil the bail requirements within a week.
