Dangote reduces fuel price to N820 per litre, begins free petrol delivery September 15

Dangoe Refinery has fixed its gentry price at N820 per litre as it is set to begin the direct petrol distribution initiative on Monday, September 15, 2025

The refinery made the announcement in a notice issued via its Twitter handle on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

According to a statement, the new gantry price has been fixed at N820 per litre, while the retail pump price will vary across states.

Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti are expected to retail petrol at N841 per litre, while Abuja, Delta, Rivers, Edo, and Kwara will sell at N851 per litre.

This means that Dangote Refinery will deliver its petrol directly to willing consumers in Lagos and the South-west states at a reduced retail price of N19, while in Abuja, North Central, and the South-South, it will be a N34 reduction.

The refinery stated that the initiative comes with the added benefit of free delivery to registered petrol station owners nationwide.

Initially, the direct supply will cover selected states, with operations to be expanded to other parts of the country in subsequent phases.

“All petrol station owners nationwide are invited to register for free delivery and other benefits,” the statement said, urging interested marketers to contact the refinery through its official sales channels.

This development comes hours after the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers (NUPENG) again placed its members on “red alert” following the decision by the Dangote Group to renege on an earlier agreement brokered by the federal government on Tuesday.

In a statement signed by William Akporeha and Afolabi Olawale, the President and General Secretary of NUPENG, respectively, the union said it is placing all its members on “red alert” for the resumption of the suspended nationwide industrial action.

However, Dangote Group said it respects the voluntary membership of unions by its workers.
