Among the notable attendees at the Grammys Honors Party in Los Angeles honoring the memory of the late music hero Fela Anikulapo Kuti were Davido, the Afrobeats singer, and Femi Kuti, the Afrobeat legend.
In honor of Fela Kuti’s enduring influence on international music and sociopolitical activity, a gathering of artists, business executives, and cultural leaders was held as part of Grammy Week events.
Videos from the occasion captured Davido and Femi Kuti talking, a scene that many saw as representative of Nigeria’s music culture’s generational continuity.
Decades after his passing, Fela Kuti’s music and principles are still relevant beyond boundaries and genres, as the homage demonstrated.
Live with Purpose, Love with Passion. Remember to be happy
