Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church, is accused by former Senator Dino Melaye of forcing his vice-president, Bishop David Abioye, to retire.
The church changed the retirement age from 60 to 55 in October of this year. Bishop Thomas Aremu, the second vice president at the time, was 67 years old, while Abioye was 63.
Melaye stated that he did not attend Shiloh 2024 in Canaanland because it would not be the same without Abioye in a post on X on Sunday.
He wrote: “I did not attend Shiloh 2024. Because Shiloh without Bishop Abioye is somehow.
“I can’t understand why Bishop Oyedepo, who is older, is not retired, and it is Bishop Abioye who is younger that should be forcefully retired.
“God did not retire Abioye, only Oyedepo did. Let’s watch..”
