Ahead of today’s governorship election, two alleged political thugs from Edo State allegedly stormed Osun State, threatening to kidnap Ademola Adeleke, the current governor and Accord Party candidate.
The two young men were seen threatening Adeleke and Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, better known online as Davido, in a one-minute, thirty-eight-second video that went viral.
“We told you people that we are coming, but you said it’s a lie. Here we are in Osun. Adeleke will learn the hard way.
“Davido will learn the hard way. You said you want to sing again, now you want to do politics, we will finish you. If you put head, you will commit suicide.
“Okpebholo is ready for you people. We are going to capture Adeleke tomorrow,” they said.
This kind of violence and thuggery have no place in a country governed by laws and order. We must remember that Nigeria is a nation built on the rule of law, and it is our collective responsibility to uphold peace and civility. As we approach the elections, our focus should be on promoting transparency, dialogue, and unity. We want a peaceful election that reflects our democratic values, not chaos and violence. Let us work together to ensure a safe and stable Nigeria for everyone.
