Ex-governorship candidate, Bamidele Akingboye d!es

Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, former Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in the 2024 Ondo State election, passed away at 60.

Akingboye, widely known as OBA, died on Wednesday morning at his residence in Victoria Garden City, Lagos. Until his death, he was the CEO of Benshore Maritime and Clog Oil Systems and the President of WeAfrica Group. He also held the traditional title of Olowomeye I of Ikaleland.

Confirming his passing, his aide, Mr. Oyeniyi Iwakun, described him as “a beacon of hope to countless people,” while the Ondo SDP said his demise was a huge loss to the party, the business community, and the state.

The party praised his vision for good governance and development, offering condolences to his family, friends, and supporters.
