Monday Perspective

Family First – Monday Motivation

A large multi-generational group of family relatives holds hands and prays together in a living room, having not seen each other for a long time, due to normal circumstances or perhaps COVID-19 or Coronavirus. Faith and connection are powerful for hope.

By God’s providence, our families remain the first and primary sphere of our responsibility. It is most natural and proper therefore, that our desire for the salvation of others should first of all be towards our families.

It is the intention of God that we be saved together with our household. Those who live under the same roof as we do should first be the recipients of the grace that we enjoy. It was only right that Abraham prayed for Ishmael and Isaac, Isaac for Esau and Jacob, Hannah for Samuel and David for Solomon. It was only right that Andrew should first find his brother Simon and bring him to the Savior, and that Eunice should first teach her son Timothy, the way of salvation and of life in Christ.

If we would each bring our families to Christ, then would all the families on earth be Christ’s. This is the responsibility God is placing at our doorsteps this week.
