Farmer Found De@d On His Farm In Ogun

The police command in Ogun has launched an inquiry into the death of a farmer, Alfa Mustapha, on his farm in Ageri Village, near Olodo, Odeda Local Government Area.

According to a statement made by the command’s spokeswoman, Omolola Odutola, the 50-year-old farmer’s lifeless body was discovered face up with his cutlass alongside him on the field. Odutola revealed that the deceased went to his property on Saturday morning but did not return home.

“Concerned about his whereabouts, the Chief Imam of Ageri Mosque, Moshood Mustapha, proceeded to the farm at about 6:02p.m, where he found the deceased lying dead” she said.

According to Odutola, Mustapha reported the incident to the Olodo Police Outstation at 6:30 p.m. She stated that after receiving the report, outstation police officers went to the spot, photographed the corpse, and deposited it at Odeda General Hospital for medical evaluation.

She revealed that due to heavy rainfall and low visibility at night, no signs of violence were first noticed on the body.

“However, a doctor’s assessment later revealed that the deceased had suffered bullet wounds from pellets, indicating he was shot at close range. Following this, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, ordered an intensive investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrator(s)” Odutola said.

She invited anyone with helpful information that could help the investigation to come forward and assist the police, telling them that the command will stop at nothing to bring the perpetrator(s) to justice.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
