Mr. Femi Otedola, a billionaire businessman, has announced that he has $250,000 in the bank for the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national football team if they win the African Cup of Nations trophy.
In light of the national team’s achievement in the ongoing AFCON 2021 tournament in Cameroun, the billionaire made this commitment recently.
Other notable personalities who have committed to award the Super Eagles include Mr. Allen Onyema, the founder of Air Peace, who has pledged N50 million to the squad if they continue to bring unity and happiness to the Nigerian people by winning the AFCON trophy.
If the Super Eagles win the AFCON competition this year, it will be the fourth time they have done so, following victories in 1980, 1994, and 2013.
The football game began on January 9, 2022, and the super eagles have played three times since then, winning all three matches.
Nigeria won 1-0 against Egypt in their first game, 3-1 against Sudan in their second match, and 2-0 against Guinea-Bissau in their third match.
