Funke Akindele, a Nollywood actress and filmmaker, has disclosed that she no longer physically attends Sunday church services, citing discomfort from ongoing media attention.
The actress addressed her absence from in-person services while making breakfast for her kids and getting them ready for church in a video posted on her Snapchat account on Sunday.
“Do not ask if I am going to church. I am not going to church. Anytime I go to church, it is me that they take picture of. I will join online,” she said.
Funke Akindele emphasized that, like anyone else, she is human and faces challenges that come with fame. The constant presence of paparazzi and the inability to enjoy moments of privacy are some of the few things celebrities have to deal with.
