God Punish You All – Yahaya Bello Tells Election Traitors

Yahaya Bello, the outgoing governor of Kogi state, has pledged that members of his cabinet, including commissioners, who allegedly deserted him during the November 11 governorship election in the state will not go unpunished.

Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was proclaimed the winner of the governorship election, defeating Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Muri Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

On Saturday, November 18, Bello voiced his rage at cabinet members during a closed-door meeting with APC stakeholders in Lokoja, accusing many of his loyalists of betraying him because of his choice of Ododo as his successor, despite everything he accomplished for them.

Bello described his allies as “enemies within,” scheming against him with opposing groups.

He said; “All of those disgruntled elements” moved against him “after everything I did for them.”

“I was fighting known enemies while enemies within were pulling me down. God punish you all.

“They said if it can’t be me, then it can’t be Ododo. They were busy conniving and conspiring with the opposition.

“They call themselves leaders but were misleading the people.

“Shame on you all,” he said.

Yahaya Bello warned that if the “leaders” ever threatened any of his subordinates, he would deal with them harshly.

The Governor pointed a straight finger at a state Senator who he claimed was “wrecked” by his brothers before he (Governor Bello) rescued him from purported financial bankruptcy.

“Today, you are a second-term serving senator. You were laughing with us while you went behind to text opposition messages to hinder our party from having 25 per cent in some local governments,” he added.
