Guinea-Bissau Wild Dogs Beat Wingless Eagles 1-0 In Abuja

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have failed to pull off a much-needed win against Guinea-Bissau’s Wild Dogs in the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 qualifiers at Abuja’s Moshood Abiola Stadium.

The Wild Dogs beat the Eagles 1–0 in Friday’s Thriller.

A win over Nigeria meant the Eagles lost the Group A lead to Guinea-Bissau.

Before the match, Nigeria led the table with 6 points, while Guinea-Bissau had 4 points.
Guinea-Bissau’s Mama Balde scored the only goal to honor his team 29 minutes into the game, pushing them to the top of the group with seven points and increasing their chances of playing in Ivory Coast next year. They won 5-1 against Sao Tome and Principe and drew 2-2 against Sierra Leone.

Meanwhile, the Eagles defeated Sierra Leone 2-1 and Sao Tome and Principe 10-0 in their first game.

Super Eagles Jose Peseiro coach defended his team’s choice ahead of the clash, showing confidence in the positive result before the game.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
