In a shocking turn of events, bandits have released new footage showcasing some of the teachers who were kidnapped during a brutal attack on schools in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. These educators have endured a harrowing 14 days in captivity.
One particularly poignant video features Alamu F.O., the principal of Community High School, Esiele. With tears in her eyes and desperation in her voice, she makes an emotional plea to the government and compassionate Nigerians. She urges them to meet the demands of the abductors, urging dialogue over confrontation, for the sake of the teachers’ safety.
The distress signals are palpable; Alamu reveals the appalling conditions the victims are enduring. Exposed to the elements without shelter, they’ve been left to suffer in the relentless rain and under the blazing sun, all while grappling with intense physical and emotional pain.
In her heartfelt message, she calls upon the Federal Government, the Oyo State Government, and security agencies to step in urgently to ensure their release before conditions deteriorate further.
This latest release of videos has reignited fears across Nigeria about the safety of teachers, students, and residents, particularly in the wake of the recent attacks on schools in Oriire Local Government Area.
The victims were taken when armed assailants stormed Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota; Community Grammar School, Esiele; and L.A. Primary School during a carefully coordinated assault earlier this month.
The urgency of their situation is clear, as public concern grows for those still held captive.
