Iran Cancels All Flights Amid Fears Of Fresh Attack On Israel

Iran has halted all flights at all airports due to rising military tensions with Israel.

Iranian officials have cancelled flights from all of its airports from 9 p.m. tonight to 6 a.m. Monday, according to the country’s media.

This move comes after increased security dangers in the region following the October 7 anniversary, as well as probable retaliatory attacks by Israel in reaction to Iranian missile strikes.

Iran launched over 200 ballistic missiles at Israel in response to the July 31 killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, which it blames on Israel.

The strike was also in revenge for Israel’s execution of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Iranian commander Abbas Nilforoushan in Beirut, Lebanon, on September 28th.

Israel has threatened to respond to this attack, with Iran’s oil and nuclear installations being the primary targets.

Officials in Tehran have often stated that Iran is prepared for such a measure and will respond with a more crushing blow.

The Civil Aviation Organization of Iran did not disclose any information about the flight cancellation, stating that it was due to “operational limitations”.

It advised travelers to contact airport flight information services and their respective airlines with any further questions or to rearrange their travels.

The CAO also reassured travelers about the cost of their tickets, stating that airlines will follow Civil Aviation Organisation norms in this regard.

In reaction to the rising tensions, a number of international carriers have followed suit.

Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines have cancelled all flights to Iran, Iraq, and Jordan until October 9, citing security concerns about the ongoing crisis between Iran and Israel. Similarly, Emirates Airlines has delayed flights to Beirut until October 15 and services to Basra, Baghdad, and Tehran until October 8.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the country had the right to attack Iran, and that no country would tolerate missiles being fired at it.

He said on Saturday: “No country in the world would accept such an attack on its cities and citizens, and Israel won’t either.

ā€œIsrael has the duty and the right to defend itself and respond to these attacks — and it will do so.ā€

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
