Jesse Lingard ‘Under Police Investigation In South Korea’

Jesse Lingard, an English football player, is allegedly the subject of a police probe in South Korea.

The former winger for Manchester United, who is currently at FC Seoul in East Asia, is under investigation for reportedly using an electric scooter without a permit.

The 31-year-old was reportedly spotted on an unauthorised electronic scooter in Seoul’s Apgujeong-dong area on September 16 in the evening, according to South Korean news station YTN.

The South Korean capital’s Gangnam Police Station is said to have launched an internal investigation today, allegedly to investigate if Lingard was under the influence of alcohol and whether he possessed a valid international driver’s license.

A football insider has reportedly refuted claims made by South Korean news agency Newsis that Lingard was drunk when he used the electric scooter and that the player “no idea” that using one without a permit was against the law.

The source reportedly told Newsis: “Lingard had no idea. He didn’t know that he needed a licence to ride it.

“His mother and younger sister came to Korea for a trip and had a meal in Apgujeong-dong. Drinking is nonsense.

“After this incident, the team said (driving a kickboard without a licence) is not allowed, and the player was clearly aware of it.”

According to rumours, Lingard posted a photo of himself riding the scooter on Snapchat before removing it.

In February of this year, Lingard made the unexpected decision to join FC Seoul in the K League. In 18 league games, he has four goals to his name.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
