Journalist Falls 80ft To Her De@th While Taking A Photo On A Staircase

A journalist tragically lost her life after falling approximately 80 feet while attempting to capture a photo of a scenic location from a dangerously deteriorated cliffside staircase in Argentina.

Leticia Lembi, a journalist, died following the plunge from the cliff at Barranca de Los Lobos in Mar del Plata, Argentina, on Wednesday, November 26.

She had reportedly been enjoying a day out in the area accompanied by family members and friends when the fatal accident took place.

According to reports, Leticia was positioned on a badly worn concrete platform and an aging staircase that descends toward the beach when she suddenly lost her footing and tumbled roughly 25 metres (82 feet) onto the rocky surface far below.

Firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and police hurried to the location, but she was declared dead right there at the scene.

Rescue workers stated that the force of the impact would have caused instantaneous death and immediately launched a recovery effort to retrieve her body from the foot of the cliff as the incoming tide began to rise.

Prosecutor Carlos Russo personally went to the site and has officially categorized the event as an accidental death, according to El Pais.

Only hours prior to the tragedy, Leticia had shared a cheerful photo of herself smiling during an outing to a vineyard located about 10 miles from the beach.

‘Here, playing the wine woman,’ the 33-year-old captioned an Instagram story that showed her at Costa&Pampa, Argentina’s pioneering oceanfront winery.

Leticia hailed from Tres Arroyos, a town situated roughly 170 miles from where the incident occurred, and she possessed a degree in Journalism and Social Communication from the National University of La Plata.

Besides being a journalist, Leticia worked as a digital marketer and had previously served as a correspondent for the regional newspaper La Voz del Pueblo back in 2020.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
